Alchemist's Blend - Code Delta

Origin: Blend

Type:  This, that and the other thing roasted and blended just so.

Flavor Notes:

Welcome Code Delta, Three blends in one.  Delta is the Greek symbol that in mathematics has come to mean change.  We have developed this series to show how different expressions of the same blend can change and show different faces like light through the facets of a prism.

Spring Awakens is the lightest and most delicate and floral of all our blends.  We blended it to lend the impression of Beginning.  A young lad or lass sipping at dawn under the Spring New Moon.  It is light and floral with clean, refreshing chocolate notes.  It takes well to either hot or cold brewing.

Summer Twilight is a balanced medium blend.  Be it the middle of the day or the middle of summer, just picture a young couple who can savor the more mature tastes under the Full Summer Moon.  It has comfortable flavors of chocolate and round full fruits and a hint of woody tannins to keep it balanced just so.

Winter Rest - is the dark and bold blend.  This by no means the darkest of our blends but is the deepest Coda Delta expression.  It is for those who have acquired the taste for something bolder and who have the wisdom to appreciate indulging in decadence as the year wanes and Moon fades.  There is a solid roast flavor here, bold in character.  There is roast barley character like in a fine and thick stout.  The chocolate is deep and tinged with sweetness.

We have found that all of these do really well both straight up and take the sweetener and/or creamer for a whole host of different flavors and expressions.

There is something here for everyone and if you are unsure which one to try, I really recommend you get our special samplers so you enough to explore.

1.5 lb Sampler - You will get 8 oz of each Spring Awakens, Summer Twilight and Winter Rest, discounted a bit as a thank you.

This Brewing cocoa works well in coffee brewers and actually mixed with coffee. Other brewing cocoas can have a tendency to muddy the flavor of coffee I have found, or worse, clog brewing filters or screens. Your mileage may vary, but I’ve found 1:1 ratio wonderful, and if you are just a little careful, so it does not overflow, even straight can work well. Your tastes may vary but I recommend starting with the following proportions and times: 4 T/8 oz boiling water Steep 5 minutes Press (assuming you are using a press pot - drip works ok too) Enjoy straight, with milk (or cream) and/or sugar.
