Spectra (formally known as Santha) was the very first wet grinder company to work with Chocolate Alchemy back in 2004 to produce what we all now know as Chocolate Melangers. All other manufacturers have stood on their proverbial shoulders. With those 18+ years of experience, comes unparalleled knowledge of the needs of the chocolate bean to bar community. Problems that other companies continue to 'fix' have been solved long ago by Spectra. Chocolate Alchemy works in partnership with Spectra to ensure our customers receive excellent customer service when purchasing and using Spectra products.

If you are curious, the NB stands for Nut Butter and you can make those too if you like, along with other wet processed foods such as hummus, dosa batter, corn masa, and more.

The unit has two black granite stone rollers that rotate at over 100 rpm (it comes with a speed controller) on a granite slab. This creates tremendous shear and reduces the particles of sugar and cocoa to the smoothness we expect in modern chocolate, somewhere in the 1-30 micron range.

Models in the USA come with a 1 year warranty. This item is drop shipped from India and takes 3-4 weeks as they are built to order and generally require 10 days to clear export customs. You can either have this door delivered (for a fee) or delivered to the closest international airport. Shipping is included in the prices but duty, taxes and clearance are the responsibility of the customer when delivered to the port.

FAQ
Is this a Santha wet grinder?

Can you use the Melanger to make chocolate sweetened with honey or syrup?
No, it will cause the chocolate to seize and may damage the unit.

Do I need a conche?
No, melangers act as refiners and conches together.

Shipping and Lead Time

• Drop ships from India; takes 3-4 weeks (built to order; 10 days to clear export customs plus transit).

• Delivery options: door delivered (extra fee) or to nearest airport (customer handles customs and final transport).

• Shipping is included in prices, but duty, taxes, and clearance are the customer's responsibility at port.

• Expedited shipping (Express, 3 Day, etc.) is NOT available.

• Port Delivery: Standard for many international locations. Customer responsible for customs, fees, taxes, and final shipping.

• Door to Door: Where available, recommended ($500 fee).

Warranty and Support

• Models in the USA come with a 1 year warranty (see complete Warranty for more details).

• Melangers sent to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, or other countries are NOT covered by manufacturer’s warranty except they are guaranteed not to be DOA (dead on arrival). Damages must be reported according to the Return policy.

• Store receipt/proof of purchase is required for warranty.

• Out of warranty or international products can be serviced at a minimal charge.

• Warranty is limited to free replacement parts or goods (no other warranty implied).

• No international warranty.

• Warranty covers free spares for one year from purchase date.

• Lifetime technical support via email and phone.

• Goods sold cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged. For all international shipments, the price is typically limited to goods and transport to the first landing point; all local fees/taxes are customer’s responsibility.

• Damages due to incorrect contact info are not covered, but good faith efforts to correct will be made.

• Products delivered with a plug style for India, UK, or USA; customer may need to have a plug replaced.

• Orders may be fulfilled by distributors based on stock/availability.
