Spectra (formally know as Santha) was the very first wet grinder company to work with Chocolate Alchemy back in 2004 to produce what we all now know as Chocolate Melangers. All other manufacturers have stood on their proverbial shoulders. With those 18+ years of experience, comes unparalleled knowledge of the needs of the chocolate bean to bar community. Problems that other companies continue to 'fix' have been solved long ago by Spectra. Chocolate Alchemy works in partnership with Spectra to ensure our customers receive excellent customer service when purchasing and using Spectra products.

If you are curious, the NB stands for Nut Butter and you can make those too if you like, along with other wet processed foods such as hummus, dosa batter, corn masa and more.

The unit has two black granite stone rollers that rotates at over 100 rpm (it comes with a speed controller) on a granite slab. This creates tremendous shear and reduces the particles of sugar and cocoa to the smoothness we expect in modern chocolate, somewhere in the 1-30 micron range. Please read the Grinding section about how to use it and it's limitations.

This item is drop ships from India and takes 3-4 weeks to ship as they are built to order and generally require 10 days to clear export customs. 

You can either have this door delivered (for a fee) or delivered to the closest international airport where you handle custom clearing and final transport.   Shipping is included in the prices above but duty,taxes and clearance are the responsibility of the customer when delivered to the a port.  In some instances,  door to door delivery may not be possible or feasible in which case the unit will be delivered to port.

 As delivery is made to many countries with different electrical plug standards, the standard product may not suit your countries standard and there may be instances when you may have to have the plug replaced to suit your countries standards.

We are excited to give you the option of selecting Belt or Chain drives for this model. The belt or chain drive machines are identical in all respects. The main difference is that the chain is slightly noisier like you can imagine a fast bicycle chain, while the belt is very quiet in operation.

The belt needs to changed out every 1-2 years,

The chain needs replacing every 3-4 years. The chain needs to be cleaned and lubricated every few months.  Chocolate Alchemy recommends this option for better power transmission and durability.

Replacement costs for spare belts or chains are not expensive and both are economical.

Expedited shipping (Express, 3 Day , etc) is NOT applicable to Melangers.  If you are offered ANY faster options in checkout they are a glitch and you should not choose them

Port Delivery - This is the standard option and often the only option for many international locations.  The unit will be delivered to the nearest Air or Ocean port.  The customer is responsible for clearing it through customs as needed, with all applicable fees and taxes, and arranging shipping the the final destination.

Door to Door - In many instances, we can offer this service and where available, it is highly recommended even though it carries a $500 fee since custom clearances and over land transport costs can easily exceed this amount. 

• Most locations in the 48 lower USA states and Canada can have this service. 
• Only the larger islands in Hawaii support this service and select locations in Alaska
• International - It is best to reach out to us before placing the order and we can determine if we can offer Door to Door.  Feel free to pick it, just note the Disclaimer below.

DISCLAIMER- Just because an option is available here does NOT mean it is accurate. i.e. if you live on one of the small Hawaiian islands, you can pick the Door to Door option but we know it is not available.  Feel free to pick it though.  We'll verify when we get the order and let you know and of course only charge you for Port delivery, meaning will will deduct $500 from the amount you have authorized.

Melangers purchased and delivered to customers in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Canada or any other country are not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty except that they are guaranteed not to arrive DOA (dead on arrival).  Please see our Return policy for reporting damage. 

A store receipt or any other proof of purchase must be available to avail the warranty. Products out of warranty or purchased outside of the United States can be serviced at a minimal charge. The warranty is limited to provision of free replacement parts or cost of goods purchased. No other warranty is expressly implied. No international warranty. Warranty is limited to provision of free spares for one year from date of purchase. Lifetime technical support over email and phone is guaranteed.

1. Goods sold cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged for any reason. For all international shipment, our price is normally limited to cost of goods and transportation up to the first landing point in the destination country. Any local taxes, fees, duties etc.. imposed by the local governments or agencies are extra and to be borne by the customer.

2. In case of damages/losses due to incorrect contact information provided by the customer, we will not be responsible for the same. We will do everything in good faith to resolve and redirect the goods to the correct address

3. Each country has a different electrical plug standard and we are unable to provide the correct plug for every country. Therefore, your product will be delivered with a plug style suited to work either in India, UK or USA. You may have to have a trained electrician to get the plugs replaced to your style.

4. We reserve the right to forward your order to any of our distributors/dealers closest to you and based on stock availability of the models. All sales are subject to our terms and conditions and disclaimers!

5. External damages must be reported on bill of lading at time of delivery. Internal damages if any must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

6. Products must be used as per instructions provided and in manner consistent with normal usage. We reserve the right to ship the product from any of our warehouse, factory or distribution points. We deliver to major airports and cities only. Remote locations will need you to pickup from the closest major city. Goods will be insured for shipping and we will ensure delivery. Seller is not responsible for delays on account of carrier delays or reasons beyond sellers control.

7. If any items are returned for warranty repair/replacement, the items should be well packed to avoid damages. The return should be by Fedex Ground or similar service and insured. We will not pay for any packaging costs. Please contact us prior to such return to ensure written return authorization and also if you have any questions on shipping modes and costs.
